Why Mothers Prayers Are So strong? You got to know –

In Luke 7, Jesus observed a huge funeral procession in Nain. The entire town was present. He observed the young men and women weeping. He observed the pastors and apostles weeping. He observed the elders weeping. He observed the fathers weeping. He observed the children weeping. He observed the sadness on people’s faces. Nothing seemed to move Him, until HE SAW THE MOTHER.

The bible says He had compassion when He saw her and immediately raised her boy from the dead. (Luke 7:12-15). It was the cry of a mother that moved the Heart of God. Still today, Mothers who cry before the Lord for their families, for their marriages, for their homes move the Heart of God.

When Mothers stop praying their families (especially their children) perish. Satan gets a foothold and starts to destroy the home, yet when they return to their rightful place as the anchor of the home, demonic strongholds get demolished. In Psalms 17, 36, 57, 63, and 91 God’s role is likening to that of a Mother.

As a Mother protects, upholds and defends her children, so does God also protect us under the shadow of His Wings. We find refuge there and can hide there until the danger is over.

A mother’s role is so vital that a father cannot get his prayers answered if he dishonours/ disrespects her (1 Peter 3:7). Because, of this favour over mothers, they are also the most attacked persons in the home.

The devil is terrified of Mothers (the powerhouse in the home). Yet the Lord has put inside Mothers grace and resilience to overcome any situation.

Today, As the woman of the home, consider yourself blessed. Consider yourself highly favoured and consider yourself dangerous when you pray !

What do you GAIN from praying to God regularly?

A woman was once asked –

What do you GAIN from praying to God regularly?

She replied –
Usually –
I don’t earn anything, but rather – I lose things !

And she quoted everything she lost praying to

God regularly –

I lost my pride.
I lost my arrogance.
I lost my greed.
I lost my urge.
I lost my anger.
I lost the lust.
I lost the pleasure of lying.
I lost the taste of sin.
I lost impatience, despair, and
discouragement.

Sometimes we pray, not to GAIN something, but to lose things that don’t allow us to grow spiritually.

Prayer educates us – strengthens us and heals us !

Prayer is the channel that connects us directly to God !

God isn’t just God of

God isn’t just the God of

Steeples
Prayer meetings
Well-paying jobs
Mission trips
Intact families
Worship songs
Sunday school

All those visible spaces.

The ones we show to the world.
The ones that look like we have our act together.
The ones where we will be praised.

He’s bigger than that. Much much bigger.

His heart is bigger.
His presence is bigger.
His well-worn, tenderness is bigger.

BECAUSE

He’s also and especially the God of

Hospital visits
Broken hearts
Empty checking accounts
Funeral parlors
Rehab rooms
Sleepless and fitful nights
Bathroom floors
Messy selves and messy lives

The places where it’s just us and Him.

The ones only He can really see.
Hear.
Understand.
Guide.
Comfort.
Heal.

The places of

Loss
Despair
Loneliness
Doubt
Fear

That are also the places of

Growth
Hope
Belonging
Grace
Peace

The places that nothing and no one else can touch.

Except for this big big, “very present help in time of trouble,” tender-hearted God.

Those are the most sacred places of all.

And some of the most beautiful.

Redemption from Spiritual death

Grace, Love and Peace to each and everyone in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Knowing what belongs to us will give us a greater idea of who we are, what we can ask and what we can claim.

As a believer there are certain truths that we need to understand and if we don’t know or understand we will be doing everything wrong.

We have learnt so far that:
New Creation belongs
Healing Belongs to us
Blessing Belongs to us
Righteousness Belongs to us
Authority belongs to us

Last week we learnt the Introduction to Redemption and a few things that we have redeemed from.

This week we will be learning about Redemption from Spiritual death.

There are three different kinds of death
1. Spiritual Death
2. Physical death
3. Eternal death

Genesis 2:16 – 17
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

1. Spiritual death means being separated from God and the life that God gives.

The moment they were separated from God but they did not die physically.

When they ate the fruit they died spiritually but not physical death.

When they were in spiritual death – they had the qualities of Satan rather than God.

Ephesians 2:1-2
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

There are two kinds of people
1. Alive unto God
2. Dead unto God

Genesis 3:10
He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

When spiritual death came – fear came and death came.
Adam and Eve began to rule by their reasoning and thoughts

Faith died – spiritual thought died – reasoning was born

John 5:24
“I assure you: Anyone who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.

Romans 8:14-16
All those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. 15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” 16 The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children,

Hebrews 2:14–15
“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death”

1 Corinthians 15:25 – 28
For He must reign until He puts all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy to be abolished is death. 27 For God has put everything under His feet. But when it says “everything” is put under Him, it is obvious that He who puts everything under Him is the exception. 28 And when everything is subject to Christ, then the Son Himself will also be subject to the One who subjected everything to Him, so that God may be all in all.

God’s Gift

Grace, Love and Peace to each and everyone in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Can someone tell
Galatians 3:26
for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.

So we have been learning:
* The Power of Salvation
* In Christ Jesus

Today let us study from Ephesians 2:8 – 9
For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—Not from works, so that no one can boast.

Many people look for God’s gift and they think
riches and honor is God’s gift
Having blessings is God’s gift
Having much prosperity is God’s gift

But the Bible tells there is a spiritual truth that every believer needs to understand.

God’s gift is something that changes our lives and our future.

The Word of God goes on to tell – How are we saved?

We are saved by Grace.
Grace means we don’t deserve it but we have been given.

We are saved by Grace

We are not saved of Grace
We are not saved for Grace

But we are saved by Grace.

We should not forget that Grace is something that we don’t deserve but it is given because of God’s kindness.

Our Salvation is result of God’s grace

How do we receive the Grace
We receive the gift of God or Grace of God through faith.

Through faith in Christ Jesus we receive Grace.

Salvation comes from Grace and we receive it through faith.

Salvation is not form ourselves
So all our offerings
So all our righteous acts
So all our works
So all our deeds
So all our religious traditions
So all our mighty deeds

All these will not bring Salvation
In simple we cannot buy Salvation

Salvation is God’s gift

So no one can boast.
We cannot boast

Psalm 20:7
Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses,
but we take pride in the name of Yahweh our God.

There is no way of boasting about our salvation.

Redemption belongs to us

Grace, Love and Peace to each and everyone in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus CHrist!

Knowing what belongs to us will give us a greater idea of who we are, what we can ask and what we can claim.

As a believer there are certain truths that we need to understand and if we don’t know or understand we will be doing everything wrong.

We have learnt so far that:
New Creation belongs
Healing Belongs to us
Blessing Belongs to us
Righteousness Belongs to us
Authority belongs to us

This week we will understand that Redemption belongs to us

By the way there are three things we are redeemed from we will learn about it in the next three weeks
Redemption from spiritual death
Redemption from Sickness

Redemption from poverty

For some it is just a religious term, and they don’t understand it.

To redeem means to buy back or purchase.

We were slaves and Jesus purchased us and freed us.
Redeem also means set free by paying the price

IT also means to redeem us from the bondage of sin and the terms that comes out of violated laws.

Most people struggle or punish themselves because of their own guilt.

Galatians 3:13 – Redemption from the curse of the Law
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written: Everyone who is hung on a tree is cursed.

Galatians 3:10 – Redempted from the law
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

2 Corinthians 5:21 – Redempted to be righteous
God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Galatians 4:4-7 – Redempted to be children of God
When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

Prayer Killer – Killer Series

Grace, Love and peace to each and everyone in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

We have learnt so far about three different aspects:
* Killer of the Word of God
* Killer of thoughts
* Killer of dreams
* Killer of Promises

Many people have many doubts why my prayers are not answered, let us find out why our prayers are not answered or who kills our prayers

Philippians 4:6-7 (anxiety kills prayer)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:31-34 (Worry kills Prayer)

So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ 32 For the idolaters eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. 34 Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 17:14-21 (Unbelief kills prayer)
14
When they reached the crowd, a man approached and knelt down before Him. 15 “Lord,” he said, “have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers severely. He often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 I brought him to Your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.”

17 Jesus replied, “You unbelieving and rebellious generation! How long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and from that moment the boy was healed.

19 Then the disciples approached Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

20 “Because of your little faith,” He told them. “For I assure you: If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. [21 However, this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting.]

Genesis 4:4-7 (Pride or arrogance)
And Abel also presented an offering—some of the firstborn of his flock and their fat portions. The Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, but He did not have regard for Cain and his offering. Cain was furious, and he looked despondent.

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you furious? And why do you look despondent? If you do what is right, won’t you be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”

Luke 18:9-14 (Boasting kills prayer)
He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else: 10 “Two men went up to the temple complex to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee took his stand and was praying like this: ‘God, I thank You that I’m not like other people —greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’

13 “But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even raise his eyes to heaven but kept striking his chest and saying, ‘God, turn Your wrath from me—a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

James 1:6-8 (Double-minded kills prayer)
But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. An indecisive man is unstable in all his ways.

5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

In Christ Jesus

Grace, Love and Peace to each and everyone in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Matthew 1:21

She will give birth to a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

Last week we learnt what Salvation does to us

* Salvation ensures or gives confidence in our spirit that we receive God’s Mercy, Love and Grace

* Salvation ensures that we are eligible to enter heaven

* Salvation ensures that we are eligible to use the authority of God

* Salvation ensures that we can boldly enter the throne of Grace

This week let’s learn from Ephesians 2:7

So that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Few points to highlight

* Coming ages

* Display the immeasurable riches His grace

* Through His kindness to us

* In Christ Jesus

We need to understand that the age we are living will be soon gone and a new age and ages will come.

The Six Ages, as formulated by Augustine of Hippo, are defined in De catechizandis rudibus (On the catechizing of the uninstructed), Chapter 22:

The First Age “is from the beginning of the human race, that is, from Adam, who was the first man that was made, down to Noah, who constructed the ark at the time of the flood“, i.e. the Antediluvian period.

The Second Age “extends from that period on to Abraham, who was called the father indeed of all nations”.

The Third Age “extends from Abraham on to David the king”.

The Fourth Age is “from David on to that captivity whereby the people of God passed over into Babylonia”.

The Fifth Age is “from that transmigration down to the advent of our Lord Jesus Christ

The Sixth Age: “With His [Jesus Christ’s] coming the sixth age has entered on its process.

Mark 10:30
but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life

Display the immeasurable riches His grace

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:16 “From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another.”

John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

* Through His kindness to us
Kindness means
the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.

Isaiah 54:8
In a surge of anger
I hid My face from you for a moment,
but I will have compassion on you
with everlasting love,”
says the Lord your Redeemer.

Isaiah 63:7
I will make known the Lord’s faithful love
and the Lord’s praiseworthy acts,
because of all the Lord has done for us—
even the many good things
He has done for the house of Israel
and has done for them based on His compassion
and the abundance of His faithful love.

in Christ Jesus
Everything that we have as a Christian is in Christ Jesus

Galatians 3:26
for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.

Galatians 3:28
for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:22
And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction,

Acts 3:16
By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know has been made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through Him that has given him this complete healing in your presence.

Together with Christ Jesus

Grace, Love and Peace to each and everyone in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

For the last three week we have learnt about how we are saved.

We learnt that we are saved
1. Because of God’s rich mercy
2. Because of God’s great love
3. Because of God’s grace

Today we will learn what does God’s mercy, love and grace do to us

Ephesians 2:6

Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens,

So now let us understand what salvation does to us.

Now Ephesians 2:6 goes on a little more deeper and says now what is our position once we are saved.

We all know that because of Christ’s death on the Cross we have access to God when the veil was torn and the gap between God and man was filled by Jesus Christ.

Now this verse explains some more deeper insights.
We all believe that God raised Jesus from death.

This verse goes on to tell that we also were raised up with Jesus Christ.

I know this is not an easy aspect to comprehend but understand that when Jesus was raised from the death we also were raised from the death.

I think this is more deep.
We don’t tell we will be raised
We don’t tell we will be seated one day

It talks about while we were one earth we have a greater place

Jesus was raised up and so are we
Jesus is seated at the right hand of God and so are we seated in the heavens.

This verse talks about the authority and the position that we have as a born again believer.

Ephesians 2:1
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins

Authority Belongs To Us

Grace, Love and Peace to each and everyone in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Knowing what belongs to us will give us a greater idea of who we are, what we can ask and what we can claim.

As a believer there are certain truths that we need to understand and if we don’t know or understand we will be doing everything wrong.

We have learnt so far that:

New Creation belongs

Healing Belongs to us

Blessing Belongs to us

Righteousness Belongs to us

This week we will understand that Authority belongs to us

Genesis 1:26-28 – AUthority to rule over everything on earth

26Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Psalm 8:3-6 – Everything under our feet

3When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon, and the stars, which you have set in place, 4what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? 5You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. 6You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet

Psalm 115:16 – Earth belongs to man

The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to man

Matthew 28:18 – 20 – All authority has been give

18 Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Acts 19:8-17 – Authority over demons and powers of darkness

8Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God. 9But some of them became obstinate; they refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way. So Paul left them. He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. 10This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord. 11God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured, and the evil spirits left them. 13Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” 14Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15(One day) the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?” 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. 17When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor

Mark 16:17-18 – Authority over poison and deadly creatures

“these signs shall accompany those who believe. In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well”
