Many times we look for rewards, we look for recognition, we look for being the best and we try to please people and we end up being discouraged, upset and frustrated.
Everytime we try to do something new, people will tell:
We cannot do.
We cannot succeed.
We cannot do this task because of so and so reasons.
We cannot do because it is new.
Yes, technically speaking we cannot do but spiritually speaking we can do.
Bible says in Phil 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ[a] who strengthens me.
That’s what Bible says we can do all things.
I feel it is better for me to listen to the Word of God rather than what people say.
Very few people take the less travelled road; everyone wants to take the common path what people travel.
God has called us to be revolutionaries the society, (Matt 5:14 – you are the light of the world)
God has called us to live like winners.
(1 Cor 15:57 – But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.)
If we see the Word of God it is always telling us about increasing our morale, our confidence, our faith, our belief, our life style in a better way.
Passage – Hebrews 10:35-36
35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
Bible says do not throw away your confidence.
So what does confidence mean?
* The state of feeling certain about the truth of something:
* A feeling of self-assurance arising from an appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities:
Confidence is something that is from inside and not from outside.
Do not throw away your confidence.
Many times we have thrown our confidence and lived our lives.
When there is no confidence there will be complaints, conflicts, criticism, comparison, carelessness, failures, faults, fear.
Many of us live a life of complaints, conflicts, criticism, comparison, carelessness, failures, faults; fear because we have thrown our confidence.
Every person who has not thrown confidence will say let us do it –
* like Caleb, though enemy were strong and looked big, he said our strength is enough to win over them.
* Like David – when he was about to face Goliath.
* Like Jonathan – When he and his armor bearer went and fought the philistines
* Like Daniel – Though situation around him said don’t pray but he opened the door and knelt and prayed.
Put in the Lion’s den but that den was turned out to be Daniels den.
* Like Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego – walked in the fire furnace.
We see that we talk about people who have not thrown their confidence.
I remember about Peter, he started with great confidence when he saw Jesus walking on the water but when he walked further he saw the wind he threw away that confidence.
How many times did we start with confidence but after we came half way through we threw away our confidence.
It is time for you and me not to throw away our confidence. We need confidence every day, every moment and every part of our life.
Bible says if we do not throw our confidence we will be richly rewarded.
So wonderful our reward, our blessing is not somewhere but it is in us. God has put that confidence in us so that we can win over any situation.
Bible says preserve your confidence so that you can do the will of God.
Just check this verse it says unless we preserve our confidence we cannot do the will of God and when we do the will of God we receive what has been promised.
I was talking to a person, everytime I speak to him I feel I should not listen to him because he is so negative in his talk, he always compares to someone or the other.
I spoke to a mechanic for two minutes I could clearly understand that his confidence over life is very less and all he knows is to be rebellious and win over people.
Bible says Psalm 139:14 – 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
